Do you dream of building your own Formula E car someday?
Sounds like fun, but unless your name is Sir Richard Branson, that probably isn't a gonna happen...sorry.
But fear not! Even if you can't afford to build a real FE car, you could still build yourself one - albeit in Lego.
Or at least you WILL be able to, if Edward Hunter - who goes by the name of Edstertainment on Lego ideas - has his way.
If you're not familiar with the Lego Ideas website, it's a site where people can post their own proposed Lego sets, in hopes that the public supports them and Lego builds them.
These are the kind of creations that make you think..hmm why didn't I think of that? Or who in the hell had time to design & build that??
If a proposal is selected and approved for production the creator earns royalties, recognition and gets to tell people he created a Lego set. Not too bad I guess.
Ed's proposal includes cars from teams including Andretti, ABT Schaeffler and Mahindra. He's also 'toying' around with the idea of adding a Fanboost board & various crew members to help your Lego driver switch from car to car.

Personally I think he ought to throw in a Lego Power Function Set, just to give the cars a little EV motivation.. although that might make the cars huge.
So far Mr. Hunter has managed to keep his project on Lego Ideas, having earned 100 supporters in the first 60 days, but 'Ed' is still well short of the 10,000 supporters needed to get his proposal officially reviewed by Lego.
At the moment Formula E 'in Lego' is being completely out voted by The Ramones, The Flintstones and The Wacky Races..
Yes, the future of auto racing is being out voted by a 1960's Hanna-barbera cartoon about auto racing
What can we do to help you say?
It's simple, check out Edstertainment's proposal, give it a little support and most importantly spread the word about it.
And who knows, maybe someday you'll be able to build you own Formula E Lego creation.
You can Follow Ed Hunter on Drive Tribe, or at on the Formula E Addicts Facebook Group that he manages.
